About Concetta Russo, Ed. D.


Concetta Russo is a leading national authority on childhood developmental and learning disabilities, including Dyslexia, Autism and Attention Deficit Disorder. With over 30 years experience in diagnosing and treating children, Dr. Russo continues to work individually with clients in her Long Island practice while instructing educators on how to recognize and treat these conditions. Her evaluations are often presented to local schools boards to ensure these children receive additional attention and testing time in the classroom.

    2006 to 2007 - Consultant/ Reading First Coordinator for the Wyandanch School District (P/T). My responsibilities included: (1) Staff Development in alternative reading strategies (Orton Gillingham) K-12 (2) Coordinate all activities associated with the Reading First Grant (3) Wrote the Reading First Grant for 2006-2009 (3) Staff Development in all areas of Special Education including and not limited to Learning Disabilities; Autism; Processing Disorders; Special Education Law and Reading.

    2005 to 2006 - Consultant as an Alternative Literacy Coach for the Middletown City School District. Academic Therapy

Crossroads provides intensive,
one-to-one instruction that focuses on developing Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency and vocabulary skills which lead to better comprehension skills.

Scholarship Reading Program

The DyslexiaCrossroadsProgram, Inc. has been established to offer free Reading tutorial services for children whose families qualify as low income status from volunteer tutors.
